Experience the 40th Australian Anniversary of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s record-breaking musical CATS, returning to QPAC’s Lyric Theatre for two weeks only this February.
The iconic role of Grizabella the glamour cat will be performed by rising star Gabriyel Thomas. She is joined by audience favourite Todd McKenney in the dual roles of Bustopher Jones and Asparagus, classical performer Mark Vincent as Old Deuteronomy, and musical theatre star Lucy Maunder as the warm-hearted Jellylorum.
Also joining the feline cast are Des Flanagan as the rebellious Rum Tum Tugger, Jarrod Draper as Munkustrap the storytelling tomcat, and Leigh Archer as the ever-busy Jennyanydots.
Adapted from T.S. Eliot’s Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, this “groundbreaking musical” (Daily Express) is a dazzling fusion of music, dance and verse.
On one magical night each year, the Jellicle cats gather at the Jellicle Ball, where their wise leader Old Deuteronomy makes the Jellicle Choice—deciding which cat will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and be reborn into a new Jellicle life.
